Scaling a Korean Café Concept Across Southeast Asia
Go to project
Scaling a K-Pop Star’s Brand Across Southeast Asia. Co-founded in Singapore alongside BTOB’s Eunkwang, PLUSEIGHTTWO demanded an aggressive regional strategy. Expanding a celebrity-backed franchise brand into Southeast Asia requires navigating distinct legal frameworks, sourcing primary real estate assets and establishing cross-border supply chain operations. Market entry requires deep operational adaptation, far beyond mere translation.
Bridging Culture and Compliance. The challenge was bridging cultural appeal with commercial viability. Every new country required localized franchise agreements, Halal compliance approvals and real estate acquisition in hyper-competitive retail markets.
Freakyyy’s team managed multi-market deployment, regional expansion, and ground operations. Led by Ben, we drove the expansion into Malaysia, securing crucial Halal certification and executed the Indonesia rollout. This case study informs FREAKYYY’s Korea-linked market entry and franchise support approach.
Completed engagement · Sold and exited
Following the regional expansion, the business was sold and Freakyyy exited the project.
